SJ OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup Matchday Three Evaluation

The matchday three of the SJ OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup (OCC) delivered a mix of tight contests and emphatic victories across the age-group and women’s categories at the Jide Sanwo-Olu Arena, Ilupeju, OdiOlowo Ojuwoye LCDA.

29 goals were scored while six teams recorded wins, the biggest win of the day came from Ghetto Tigers 9-0 victory against Lily Legend while the lowest win was HB Utility lone goal win against Future Stars.

U8 Category

HB Utility edged Future Stars SA 1-0 in a hard-fought encounter. The single goal proved decisive in a match defined by defensive organisation and limited clear-cut chances, giving HB Utility a valuable three points.

In the other U8 fixture, Varsity FA produced a clinical display to defeat Adeola FA 4-1. Varsity’s attacking fluidity proved too much for their opponents, who managed a consolation goal but were second-best for large periods.

U13 Category

HB Utility continued their positive run with a controlled 2-0 win over Ajibade FA. Solid at the back and efficient in front of goal, HB Utility kept a clean sheet and extended their influence in the category.

U15 Category

Mighty Warriors produced the standout performance of the day, thrashing Future Stars SA 7-2. The Warriors were ruthless in attack, overwhelming their opponents with wave after wave of pressure and converting chances at a high rate. Future Stars managed two replies but were unable to stem the tide.

Women’s Category

Wazbak Queens asserted their authority with a convincing 3-0 victory over Ablaze Amazon. The Queens controlled the tempo, remained disciplined defensively, and converted their dominance into a clear win that strengthens their standing.

U19 Category

Ghetto Tigers delivered a dominant display, overwhelming Lily Legend 9-0. The Tigers were clinical throughout, scoring freely and keeping a clean sheet in one of the most one-sided results of the matchday.

Matchday Three showcased both the competitiveness of the younger age groups and the clinical edge of the higher categories. HB Utility picked up results in two age groups, Mighty Warriors and Ghetto Tigers impressed with heavy wins, and Wazbak Queens maintained their strong form in the women’s competition. Attention now turns to the next round of fixtures as teams look to build momentum in the SJ OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup.
