Ikorodu North Begins Road, School Projects
For residents of Apeka and Losi-Onikoko in Ikorodu North, two long-standing community needs are now receiving attention as the council begins work on a major road project and the reconstruction of a primary school.
The Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Mayor Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile, has flagged off the construction of High School Road, Apeka, and the reconstruction of Army Children Primary School, Losi-Onikoko, Odogunyan.
The projects are part of the administration’s efforts to improve road connectivity and provide better learning environments for children across the local council.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Mayor Apanisile said the projects were designed to address infrastructure needs in the communities while supporting the council’s broader development plans.
For residents of Apeka, the construction of High School Road is expected to improve movement and connectivity, while the reconstruction of the primary school is expected to provide pupils with a better environment in which to learn.
The chairman urged residents to support the contractors and protect the projects, stressing that the cooperation of the communities would be important to ensuring that the projects were completed on schedule.
The Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, commended the chairman for what he described as his developmental efforts.
Benson also pledged to support the extension of the road project to adjoining communities.
The ceremony attracted political leaders, community stakeholders, religious leaders and officials of Ikorodu North LCDA.
For the communities involved, the projects represent more than the beginning of construction work.
A better road could make daily movement easier for residents, while a reconstructed school could give children a safer and more conducive environment for learning.
As construction begins, residents will now be watching to see the projects completed and delivered for the use of the communities.
