Seven Years of THEMES+ Agenda: Sanwo-Olu Commends Lagosians’ Support
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed gratitude to residents of the state for their support, patience and cooperation over the last seven years of his administration.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor described the achievements recorded by his administration as the result of collective sacrifice, resilience and partnership between the government and the people.
Reflecting on the journey since assuming office, Sanwo-Olu said Lagosians have remained a critical part of the successes recorded across key sectors of the economy.
“Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision to build a Greater Lagos that works for all. Today, I salute every Lagosian for the trust, patience and partnership you have shown. Your support has been the bedrock of every milestone we have achieved,” he said.
The governor highlighted progress made in areas such as infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education reforms, mass transportation, youth empowerment and urban renewal projects across the five divisions of Lagos State.
He acknowledged challenges encountered during the period, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic pressures, but noted that his administration remained focused on implementing its THEMES+ development agenda.
Sanwo-Olu also reassured residents of his commitment to completing ongoing projects and initiating new programmes aimed at improving their quality of life.
“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come. We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education and a secure environment where businesses can thrive,” he stated.
The governor urged residents to continue supporting government policies designed to promote sustainable development and called on private sector stakeholders and development partners to strengthen collaboration with the state government.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has contributed significantly to Lagos State’s progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education and empowerment initiatives.
According to Sanwo-Olu, his administration has recently presented a comprehensive account of its stewardship through ministerial press briefings held over the past month, giving Lagosians the opportunity to assess the government’s performance.
The governor concluded by appreciating civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, party executives and leaders of the All Progressives Congress for their contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State over the past seven years.
