Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has dismissed claims that she ignored Fuji musician Wasiu Pasuma at a recent public event, describing a viral video circulating online as misleading.

The controversy began after a social media user shared an edited clip from actress Fathia Balogun’s birthday celebration, suggesting that Akindele failed to acknowledge Pasuma despite his presence at the event.

In the footage, Akindele was seen greeting Balogun while Pasuma sat nearby, sparking speculation of a possible snub.

Reacting to the claims on social media platform X, Akindele refuted the narrative, stating that she interacted with the Fuji star during the event.

“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, and danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this,” she wrote.

A longer version of the video from the event appears to support her clarification, showing the actress standing close to Pasuma, engaging with him before moving on to greet other guests.

The clarification comes amid recent online discussions involving Akindele, including similar claims following a separate event appearance.
