2025 AFCON: Osayi-Samuel Delighted With Impressive Performance

Nigeria right back, Bright Osayi-Samuel is elated with his topnotch performance against Algeria in the quarter final of the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) at the Grande Stade de Marrakech.
Osayi-Samuel was adored by fans with his standout performance while shielding the right back position of the Super Eagles.
Speaking to accredited CAF journalists at the mixed zone, the creative fullback said the win and clean sheet against the Dessert Warriors was really important as Nigeria surge ahead to claim the title.
He credited his fantastic form to his confidence, self beliefs on his abilities and his teammates who made play seamlessly.
“It was really important to win the game and the clean sheet.
“I’ve been more confident now, I wasn’t as confident as I know I want to be but against Algeria I just said, I want to go out there and play my game. I don’t care what anyone says but play my game and today, it came off thanks to God and my teammates.
“We played fantastic as a a team and anyone could have been the Man Of The Match today.”
Nigeria will meet host, Morocco in the semifinal at the 69,500 capacity Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Wednesday, January 14th by 9pm.
