Nigeria ex international, Ayisat Yusuf has disclosed that the 10th edition of the SheFootball program will be an explosive one which will feature top professional personalities who will educate the girl child on how to be successful in life with football.
The SheFootball event has been an annual ritual done by the Ayisat Yusuf Foundation. The 2026 edition will see a handful number of girls empowered through football, official club jerseys to all the participating teams and mentorship programs.
The tenth edition of the SheFootball event will start by 8am with a seminar before hostilities begin on the pitch by 9am and this will be held at Anglican Primary School, Ilado, Badagry on January 3rd 2026.
Past events of the SheFootball gave hopes to the girl child looking for a career in football as the founder and pioneer, Ayisat distributes football boots and other merchandise to facilitate the growth of the players from the grassroots to the professional level.
The former Super Falcons player said she derives joy creating a platform for the girl child to thrive because this is not what she experienced while growing up the ladder during her professional career.
The FIFPRO merit award winner disclosed that there’s a bigger event in the summer of 2026 where she will invite top football European agents to nurture the grassroots players to global stars.
“I’m glad to give this young girls a platform to showcase their selves where they get the chance to be mentored by top professional from different fields. This however gives them an edge on what to expect when they climb up the ladder in their career.
“We will be inventing other benefits for the girls as we celebrate our tenth anniversary, also we are planning a bigger event in the summer where top football European agents will be in Nigeria courtesy of the Ayisat Yusuf Foundation and select the best legs. There are also a lot of benefits we are bringing in the summer too but for now, it will be under the wraps.”
