The immediate past Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Olusesan Daini, has formally returned to the Justice Forum, describing the decision as a homecoming and a reaffirmation of his long-standing political roots.
Addressing party leaders, stakeholders and supporters, Daini said the Justice Forum was the foundation of his political journey, stressing that his return symbolises loyalty, growth and renewed commitment to grassroots politics. He recalled that when he previously left the forum, he did so with only a few supporters but has now returned with hundreds, a development he attributed to years of political grooming, mentorship and leadership exposure.
According to him, the political tutelage he received under Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun played a significant role in shaping his leadership capacity and expanding his political base.
Daini emphasized that his allegiance has remained firmly with Asiwaju Basorun, whom he described as his leader in all seasons, noting that the Justice Forum’s consistency, inclusiveness and focus on grassroots development informed his decision to return.
He explained that the values instilled in him by the forum’s leadership translated into wider acceptance, stronger political relevance and deeper community support during and after his tenure as council chairman.
Welcoming Daini back into the fold, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, Member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and Apex Leader of the Justice Forum in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, described the return as both timely and symbolic.
Basorun stated that the Justice Forum has remained a stable and dependable political platform dedicated to unity, grassroots mobilisation and the overall development of Igbogbo Kingdom. He stressed that Daini was never a stranger to the forum, describing him as an integral member of the political family.
He disclosed that the Justice Forum maintains strong and functional structures across all wards in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, assuring members of an organised base capable of sustaining party growth.
Calling for unity, Basorun urged members to shun division and work collectively as one family with a shared vision. He emphasized that cohesion and discipline remain critical to achieving political success.
Commending Daini’s tenure as council chairman, Basorun praised his performance in office, highlighting several landmark projects executed during his administration. He specifically referenced the council secretariat complex and the ultra-modern palace as enduring legacies that have positively impacted the community.
Describing Daini as a worthy son of Igbogbo Kingdom, Basorun expressed pride in his contributions and formally welcomed him and his supporters back to the Justice Forum.
Reflecting on the history of the movement, Basorun recalled that the group was founded in 1989 as Primrose before evolving into the present-day Justice Forum. He urged members to work with renewed zeal and collaboration as preparations begin ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He further charged Justice Forum members across Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA to return to their wards and strengthen party structures at the grassroots, expressing confidence that unity and commitment would guarantee the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.
In his closing remarks, Daini called on his supporters to embrace love and unity as the cornerstone of peaceful coexistence and sustainable political growth within the APC. He thanked God for guiding his political journey and appreciated the leadership of the Justice Forum, particularly Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, Alhaji Abdullahi Bobomi, and other members of the forum, for their consistency and loyalty.
Daini reaffirmed his resolve to uphold the principles of good leadership and contribute meaningfully to the continued stability and progress of the APC in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.
