Ijede LCDA recorded another major milestone on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, commissioned the ultra-modern Yeye Fausat Gbadebo Legislative Chamber and Customary Court Building—an edifice described by leaders and stakeholders as a symbol of progress, continuity, and good governance.
Commissioned by the Lagos State APC Chairman, Hon. Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the newly completed two-storey structure stands as one of the most significant infrastructural achievements in the history of Ijede LCDA. The facility houses a fully furnished legislative chamber, administrative offices, and modern audio-visual installations designed to enhance legislative efficiency and judicial administration.
Speaking at the commissioning, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba dedicated the project to the memory of the late Yeye Fausat Gbadebo, the pioneer Chairman of Ijede LCDA, noting that her contribution laid the foundation on which the LCDA continues to grow. She also acknowledged past and present leaders whose sacrifices have remained instrumental to the council’s development.
“This edifice symbolizes our commitment to delivering good governance, accountability, and improved service delivery,” she said, reaffirming her administration’s dedication to infrastructure, education, environmental improvement, transportation, and community development.
The event attracted an impressive gathering of political leaders, royal fathers, judicial officials, community representatives, and dignitaries from within and beyond Ikorodu Division. The Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, HRM Oba Abdulhakeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, who delivered a goodwill message on behalf of traditional leaders, commended the standard of the project and prayed for the continued prosperity of Ijede.
Among the dignitaries present were Justice Kazeem Alogba, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Otunba Femi Pedro, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, Dr. Jokomba Adeola, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, Mrs. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, Mrs. Oladunjoye, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, Hon. Kolade Alabi, and several others.
In a separate message of appreciation, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba expressed profound gratitude to all who supported the successful commissioning. She thanked political leaders for their fatherly guidance, the Chief Judge of Lagos State for his support, royal fathers for their blessings, and community stakeholders for their commitment to Ijede’s growth.
She also extended heartfelt appreciation to members of the Legislative Arm, the management team led by Mrs. Oluwakemi Ayodele-Michael, the event planning committee headed by Vice Chairman Hon. Femi Kabir, and the people of Ijede LCDA whose support continues to energize the administration.
According to her, the journey toward a more prosperous Ijede is a shared responsibility, and the new Legislative Chamber and Customary Court stand as a testament to what collaborative leadership can achieve.
With the commissioning of this monumental project, Ijede LCDA opens a new chapter—one defined by institutional strengthening, modern governance, and renewed hope for residents.
