NWFL Premiership: Fatimoh Solaty Elated With Goal Scoring Return After Long Injury Layoff

Dannaz Ladies influential captain, Fatimoh Solaty is delighted with her goal scoring return after missing the whole of last season through injury.
Solaty played a crucial role in the Cedars 3-2 win against Osun Babes in the Southwest Derby of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
Solaty who has been a loyal member of the Dannaz dynasty came out blazing from all cylinders playing her first competitive match after the recovering from a lengthy injury layoff.
She couldn’t contain her joy of leading the Cedars to their first win of the season as she narrated how she encouraged her teammates to get the three points at stake while ignoring celebration.
The tranquility midfielder was excited to see her rhythm and spark getting back in shape gradually a she hope to hit top form as the League progresses.
“My reaction after the game, after my goal, actually, because it was an equalising goal, so I could not celebrate. I just had to tell my team, “Come on, we can do better. Let’s go, let’s win,” because we needed those three points. These first three points will boost our confidence. It will determine how we’re going to do in our next game. So, we’re good,” she said.
“I’m very excited. I’m happy for myself and for my team. Coming back and scoring the first goal, it was something to write home about. I’m happy with my improvement. I’m getting my spark back gradually. I’m not there yet, but I’m getting somewhere.”
Solaty expressed her injury frustrations watching her colleagues play while she encourages them from the sidelines.
“It was frustrating. Sitting outside and watching my team play not being able to participate it was frustrating. But I had to support them from the side, just encourage them. We’re still together even if I’m outside, we’re still a team.”
Dannaz Ladies will square up against visiting Nasarawa Amazons in their next game at the five thousand capacity Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan on Wednesday, December 3rd.
