The Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) is set to organize a train-the-trainers program for the Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) officials.
The program aims to equip DJAN officials with the necessary knowledge and skills to enforce copyright laws and ensure that all DJs are properly licensed.
The announcement was made by DJAN Chairman in Abuja, Isa Justice, also known as DJ Smooth Play, during the 2025 Welcome Party organized for DJAN members. The program is scheduled to take place in Lagos during the first quarter of 2025.
Justice explained that all DJAN chairpersons across the country, including national executive officers, would participate in the training to gain a thorough understanding of the guidelines before embarking on copyright law enforcement.
The initiative is expected to empower DJAN officials to train their members in various chapters on copyright laws, enforcement, and compliance.
DJAN’s spokesman, Taiwo Ogungbuyi (DJ Teazer), commended MCSN for initiating the program, emphasizing its importance in raising awareness among DJAN members about proper licensing and the use of intellectual property.
According to him, this programme will empower DJAN executives to embark on sensitisation and public enlightenment through the media and social media platforms before clamping down on unlicensed DJs across the country.
