Ejigbo LCDA Chairman promises free breast cancer test for women

The Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Monsuru Bello, has promised to organize a free breast cancer test for the women in the local council area as an effort to tame the menace of the deadly disease.

Making the promise recently in Ejigbo, Bello said it has become a necessity for the government to take up the exercise as many people were dying of the disease due to ignorance of the  presence of the disease in their body or late detection of such.

According to him, the community had lost many people to the disease while some are still living with it unknowingly. He said early detection of the presence of the disease in the body would save lives as well as resources.

The local council boss disclosed that the council had spent more money that was supposed to be useful for community development on those whose lives were claimed by the disease.

To be on a saver side, Bello admonished the women to always exercise their breasts by constantly pressing them to detect whether they had developed the cancer or not, saying detection of the disease at early stage before it grows would prevent untimely death and save more resources.

He therefore said that the council would create centers where the residents especially the women could be tested and recommended for treatment.

Meanwhile, Bello charged the Ejigbo residents to register with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and get their permanent voters cards (PVC) in preparation for the 2019 general elections. He stated that the local council has appealed the INEC official to attend to the people on time

He also used the opportunity to solicit support for Bamgbetan’s House of Representatives membership race, asking all members of APC in Ejigbo to work hand-in-hand to make sure he wins the position comes 2019.

The LCDA boss, who identified unemployment as a major challenge among the youths, said that the government has been canvassing with the private sector to open door of employment for the youths.

He however appealed to them to more prayerful and patient as the government was working assiduously to cater for all categories of people in the local council area.
