The School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) of Afariogun Primary School has raised alarm over the threat posed to the community by hoodlums destroying the premises.
This school was recently refurbished by the former Oshodi-Isolo Chairman, Hon. Bolaji Muse Ariyoh but invasion by hoodlums and their nefarious activities is scaring away the students, teachers and the parents.
It was gathered that the hoodlums invaded the school on Wednesday night last week and removed window burglaries and aluminium frames. They also damaged toilets, chairs and tables used by the students.
On Thursday morning, the school headmistress, Mrs Ahmad Wesley, took the records of the damages.
She later met with the SBMC members and the incident was reported at Akinpelu Police Station.
It was gathered that the station IPO visited the scene and promised to apprehend the hoodlums.
Meanwhile, the SBMC Chairman, Mr Kazeem Fawole, has appealed to the newly elected council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede, to come to their aid by providing security in the school to secure their young ones.
He requested for proper fencing of the school premises with a guard to always man the school day and night to curb the hoodlums who normally come into the school compound to smoke, steal, gamble and damage school properties.
He said the committee worked for the rehabilitation of the school, pledging to make all efforts to protect it.
