Young Player Award will motivate me more – Shobowale

Midfield maestro, Rukayat Shobowale, was awarded the Best Young Player of the Flying Officers Cup, which was held in Abuja.

Shobowale had a total of 4 assists in the tournament as she was instrumental to her team’s exceptional winning run clinch the nation wide pre-season tournament.

Speaking to ECHONEWS, the diminutive FC Robo Queens midfield Marshal stated that she was happy over the award, saying she was not expecting.

“I am so happy and it will motivate me to work harder, though I wasn’t expecting the individual award because my priority was to see FC Robo Queens winning the trophy. I want to appreciate my teammates and coaches because without their constant help and assistance, this wouldn’t have been possible. And I wish to collect more individual awards going forward in my career.”

The attacking midfielder added that Chelsea ladies midfielder Ji So-yun is her role model base on her style of play which suits her, disclosing her dream to play for the club.

She acknowledged FC Robo Queens, saying it is a great club which brings out the best in players.
