Wafu B U20: Super Falconets crush Benin Republic to reach final

Nigeria U20 side defeated Benin Republic to reach the final of the Wafu B U20 tournament in Ghana.

Amina Bello opening goal and Esther Onyenezide double condemned and knocked out Benin Republic from the Wafu B U20 tournament.

Tantalizing winger, Bello opened scoring for Nigeria in the 24th minute to finish strongly.

The Falconets dominated proceedings in the game as skillful forward Flourish Sabastine did the damage for Nigeria as she breezed pass two Beninois players as she was brought down in the penalty area which Onyenezide converted successfully to put Nigeria two goals up.

Despite creating additional chances in the first 45 minutes, the Falconets couldn’t add to their tally as they chased a comfortable win.

Influential midfielder, Taiwo Afolabi gave a pocket pass to the dynamic Onyenezide to fire a strong left footed striker into the bottom corner of the net as she grabbed her brace of the game and Nigeria’s third of the encounter.

Super Falconets were able to keep their unbeaten and flawless record in shape as they fire past Benin Republic.

Nigeria will clash with Ghana in the final of the Wafu B U20 tournament in Kumasi Ghana by the third of June at the Baba Yara stadium, Kumasi, Ghana.
