WAFCON 2026: Ajibade Hails Falcons Collective Effort Despite Group Stage Troubles

Nigeria skipper, Rasheedat Ajibade has commended the unity and cohesion among the Falcons following their 6-2 win against Egypt in their last group game at the Olympic Stadium, Rabat, Morocco.
Super Falcons successfully navigated the group stage of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and advanced to the quarter-finals, with Ajibade leading the celebrations.
Reacting to the achievement on her official X handle, Ajibade praised the team’s determination and unity.
“What a fight. We made it out of the group stage.”
The skipper highlighted the contribution of everyone involved in the campaign as they stay united to get Nigeria back on the right track.
“This win was about ALL of us, every player who stepped on that pitch, everyone in the squad pushing us on, to our crew, technical team, staff, and every single fan back home believing with us.
“That’s what collective effort looks like. We fight for each other. Quarter-finals, here we come. The mission continues. The queens are here.”
The Nigeria captain’s words reflect relief for the knockout stages of the continental competition.
The Super Falcons now turn their focus to the quarter-finals as they will come up against familiar foe, Cameroon.
