Veteran Nollywood actress Omotunde Ogundimu has revealed that she is battling cervical cancer, appealing to Nigerians and members of the entertainment industry for financial support as she undergoes treatment.

The actress made the disclosure during an interview with fellow actress Biola Adebayo on the Talk to B podcast, where she opened up about her health challenges and the financial burden of her treatment.

Ogundimu said she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2025 and described the pain as overwhelming.

The actress, who is a widow and single mother of three, disclosed that her husband died in 2012 and said her children have exhausted their financial resources trying to pay for her medical care.

“I’m going through severe pain. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. My children have spent all they have, and they can no longer care for themselves because they are using their income to take care of me,” she said.

She explained that she had initially chosen not to seek public assistance but said her worsening condition had left her with no other option.

“I had refused to seek help from the public, but as it is now, I don’t have any option other than to do it. Nigerians, please have mercy on me. I just want to be healed,” she appealed.

Ogundimu also expressed disappointment over what she described as a lack of opportunities in Nollywood despite spending 35 years in the movie industry.

According to her, repeated appeals to colleagues for acting roles have not yielded positive results.

The veteran actress also asked for forgiveness from anyone she may have offended in the industry, saying she hoped to receive another opportunity to continue her acting career.

“I have been doing this job for 35 years. If there is anyone I have offended, please forgive me. I beg you in the name of this profession,” she said.
