Suspected Abule-Egba killer wife, others in police net

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended suspected killer wife who allegedly murdered her husband in Abule-Egba area of Lagos.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ajisebutu Adekunle said the wife together with other three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the crime.

Adekunle disclosed that the body of the deceased, Mr Alaba Bakare, a hotelier, has been deposited at the Yaba Mainland Hospital’s morgue for autopsy to aid further investigation on the case.

Bakare, popularly known as Bama, is the owner of Bama Hotel and Suites in Abule-Egba, Lagos.

Report has it that the couple who just returned from an expensive vacation at Dubai have been married for 8 years with three kids.

Going by the viral Facebook post of different bloggers, Bama was killed by his wife while sleeping on the premise that he impregnated a lady.

It was stated that he was first drugged to sleep off and loose consciousness before she burnt him with hot pressing iron on different spots of his body till death.

However, during interrogation, a source revealed that Motunrayo claimed to have had an argument with her husband over his refusal to sack a worker.

She said she used hot iron to burn her husband during a fight that ensued between them but which the wound was a small fracture that would heal with time.

She, however, did not reveal to have drugged him as she only narrated that he began grasping for breath when having fun the following day but eventually died after rushing him to the hospital.

Further investigation is ongoing at the Lagos State Police Command as community awaits final judgement on the case.
