Stakeholders, beneficiaries appreciate Shogunle Councillor over free books, gifts to students, widows

Stakeholders in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area and the beneficiaries of the free exercise books and food items have commended the Councilor representing Shogunle Ward E1, Hon. Femi Wasiu Mustapha for the provision educational materials to pupils and welfare package to the widows.
According to the councilor, the gesture was in fulfillment of his electoral promises to the people of his ward when he was elected in 2017, adding that he was supporting the people to cushion the effect of economic hardship.
He said: “Education plays a pivotal role in the society because it is the social engineering of the nation and the students must be well equipped and supported in achieving this which necessitated the presentation of 10 Exercise Big note books each to all pupils in public primary schools situated in Shogunle.
“Not only that, the welfare of the widows is also something dear to my heart especially the aged ones among them looking at the burden many of them face to cater for themselves and their children which is the reason why putting smiles on their faces in this little capacity of my widow’s mite becomes inevitable.”
He disclosed that his support would not be limited to the education and social welfare alone, promising to extend it to other sectors such as Sport, Health, Environment and Entertainment for the growth of the community.
Appreciating the councilor, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Hon. Bolaji Muse Ariyoh, who also graced the occasion, lauded the councilor for such a good idea of bringing dividends of democracy to the people, saying it was assign of quality representation.
“I am glad about what we have seen in a display which is a product of visionary, productive and responsible leadership. I appreciate you for not limiting yourself to the constitutional responsibility of lawmaking and oversight functions only but, making the welfare of pupils and widows in your community a priority. I say more power to your elbow.”
Also appreciating the councilor were Mrs. Aderemi Folakemi who represented Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) for extending helping hands to parents who couldn’t afford exercise books for their wards, and the head teachers of the four primary schools that benefited from the free books as the widows also chanted praises to the donor for putting smiles on their faces.
During the presentations, each pupil from four primary schools in Shogunle including Local Government Primary School, Temidire Primary School, Folaranmi Primary School and Ago-Owu Primary School received ten big note exercise books and each of about 200 widows got 10kg of rice, 5kg of garri and cash to cater for their needs.
