The Rotary Club of Okota has renovated the Water and Sanitation projects it carried out in Ijeshatedo Grammar School, Okota 10 years ago.

It re-channelled and re-piped the water supply from the borehole in response to the report that water has stopped running into female toilets in the school.

According to the club, it based the decision on the report provided by the President, Rotarian Gabriel Ogugua from his discoveries through continual monitoring of the projects done in previous years.

“Our school’s population is a few less than 500 students with a toilet facility of 36 and we try to maintain a proper hygiene by assigning a hygiene manager to monitor the students to fetch water and flush the toilet after use but God willing, we’ve moved a step further to greatness because Rotary Club Okota has been a partner in progress with us from years back.”

Appreciating the school’s stakeholders, the incoming president of the Club, Prince Taiwo Akanimodo commended the school for maintaining the borehole dug 11 years ago by the club, promising that the club would as well include the renovation of the Water Closet to a more classic one in the toilet while planning for the provision of computer sets in the computer lab as its next projects in the school.
