As Muslim faithful all over the World commence holy month of fasting on Friday, the management of ECHONEWS Newspaper has sent greetings to the Muslims in Oshodi-Isolo and Lagos State as a whole, charging them to use the holy period to pray fervently for the defeat of the deadly coronavirus that is ravaging the country and the world as a whole.

In a statement on Friday, the Newspaper management said the month of Ramadan is a period when prayers are quickly answered, charging the Muslims to make use of the opportunity to pray for the country.

It however charged them to adhere strictly with the governments’ directives on COVID-19 during the Ramadan period to prevent spread of the pandemic in the state.

“As proactive measures to prevent community spread of COVID-19, governments have ordered the residents to stay at home and keep social distancing.

“We should make sure that we do not have congregation of more than 20 people at a time; we have been urged to pray at home instead.

“To heed this advice, most of the Islamic organisations have suspended their annual Ramadan lectures and other activities.

“We should always use nose cover, wash our hands regularly and use hand sanitisers. If we all abide by these directives and pray fervently, we shall soon overcome this deadly disease.

“As we welcome this 2020 Ramadan, we wish all our Muslim brothers and sister disease free month.
“Ramadan Kerim!”
