Phyna Drags Carter Efe, Davrel to Court, Demands N500m Damages

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has instituted a N500 million defamation lawsuit against content creators Carter Efe and Davrel over allegations made against her during a social media dispute.

The legal action follows a public exchange that began after Davido’s associate, Davrel, allegedly claimed that Carter Efe had described Phyna as being “of no benefit.” Phyna responded by accusing Davrel of failing to pay a cameraman she introduced to him.

The disagreement escalated when Davrel accused Phyna of making sexual advances towards him and seeking an introduction to his father, allegations she denied.

During a subsequent social media livestream, Carter Efe also claimed that he had been intimate with Phyna and said he could provide evidence to support the allegation.

Reacting during the exchange, Phyna warned both Carter Efe and Davrel that they would be hearing from her lawyer.

Addressing fans in an Instagram Live session on Thursday, Phyna apologised for how she had handled recent online confrontations, admitting that her reactions had often overshadowed the issues at hand.

She said the latest controversy had convinced her to stop responding to such matters on social media and instead seek legal redress.

“Since I started streaming, I tried to stream the way everybody streams, but it has brought a lot of disrespect to me. This has to be the last time I will be disrespected like that,” she said.

Phyna added that she had formally served legal notices on both Carter Efe and Davrel.

“So, Carter Efe and Davrel, check your emails and WhatsApp. You’ve been served,” she stated.

Carter Efe later confirmed in a video that he had received legal documents showing that Phyna was demanding N500 million in damages.

Neither Carter Efe nor Davrel has publicly presented evidence to substantiate the allegations made against Phyna, and the matter is now expected to proceed through the legal process.
