Petrol Station Supervisor Nabbed Over Alleged N1.25M Theft

The Police in Lagos have arraigned one filling station supervisor, Prosper Ese, over an alleged act of stealing N1,256,000 from his employer.
Ese, 22, was put on trial at the Badagry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday on a two-count charge of theft and fraud which he pleaded not guilty to.
Police Prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, countered his not guilty plea by stating that the suspect commited the act on March 2 at Arigbabuwo Filling Station in Oko-Afo, Badagry.
Expo disclosed that the alleged offender misappropriated the sum of N1,056,400 from sales proceeds and also fraudulently obtained N200,000 under false pretenses.
The Prosecutor added that Ese attempted to escape the filling station premises but was held by the staff management.
Expo noted that the alleged crime violate Sections 287 and 311 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Presiding Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni granted Ese bail of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the matter till April 16.
