The Executive Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh, has submitted the proposed 2018 appropriations bill to the legislative arm of the council for ratification. This, according to the chairman, was done in compliance with the democratic principle.
Presenting the budget to the legislative arm recently, Ariyo disclosed that the exercise was another milestone of development in Oshodi-Isolo local government as the budget was the first to be designed by his administration since inception.
The birth of the proposed budget document sent to the legislative house for ratification emerged some weeks back after the deliberation involving the executive chairman and the council managements in a 3-day budget retreat exercise.
The documentation would become authoritative binding after the approval of the legislature.
During the budget presentation, the chairman spelt out the proposed revenue and expenditure of the council for the year 2018, putting into consideration the needs of each community.
“Today’s event marks another beginning of development in Oshodi as this will be the first budget this administration will design since inception,” he declared.
He stated that it’s proper implementation would drive the development needs of the communities in tandem with the fulfillment of his election promises to the people of Oshodi.
The leader of the house, Hon. Rasheed Obasa, assured the chairman and executive members of quick passage of the budget. He also advised that payment of dues should be made to designated banks to aid fulfillment of the chairman’s promises.
In attendance at the budget presentation were traditional rulers, political leaders, community leaders and other stakeholders.
