Oshodi-Isolo LG sets up committee on road maintenance

The Executive Chairman of oshodi -Isolo Local Government, Hon. Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh has inaugurated a committee to be in charge of swift response to infrastructural challenges within Oshodi community.

The council boss, while inaugurating the committee at the local government secretariat recently, spelt out the core duty of members which is to provide corrective or palliative measure to roads and drainage in critical condition that need the swift response of the government.

Ariyoh, who emphasized that he promised to run inclusive governance with the participation of the people at the grassroots, declared that the policy could not be well implemented without involving the people at the grassroots.

According to him, this remains the reason the committee is inaugurated as ‘Infrastructure Rescue Team’.

He maintained that the task given to the committee did n ot stop the local government from continuing to construct and repair more roads within the community.

The inaugurated Infrastructure Rescue Team comprises the Council Engineers of the Work Department, some executive members of the local government and the seven representatives of CDC that cut across the seven wards.

The Chairman of the committee who doubles as the Supervisory Councilor for Works, Hon. Owolabi Olagoke charged the members to be proactive with the responsibility given to them.

He said, “The condition of roads and drainages in Oshodi needs urgent and radical action which the Chairman has done by setting up this committee as a helping hand in ensuring our roads and drainages are put in right and befitting condition as a responsible and responsive government that wants the best for his people.”
