OBE Cup 2021: Organisers commence distribution of forms to teams

The Organisers of an Ejigbo Community football tournament tagged “OBE Cup” has urged all interested teams in each ward across the council area to pick their forms to be able to participate in the tournament.

The competition is sponsored by the Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Monsurudeen Bello Obe.

According to the organisers, registration will be done between September 12 and October 10, 2021, which is the deadline for the submission of the forms.

Speaking on their preparation for the competition, the chairman of the Organising Committee, Ahmed Shekoni, assured that the competition would commence in October and end in December.

Sekon said all the six political wards will participate in the competition.

He said each ward is expected to produce four teams – two junior teams and two senior teams to participate in the game.

“We will start giving out the registration forms to the teams. Form is free and will be distributed across the six geo political wards in Ejigbo through their councillors. The championship commences in October and will last till December to celebrate the Yuletide season.

“I must confess that all the wards in Ejigbo LCDA are looking forward to the competition. The council boss has directed us to extend the registration forms to individuals who can raise football team within the locality for the competition,” he said.

Shekoni, therefore, urged the stakeholders in each ward to collaborate with their councillors to form formidable teams to participate in the competition.

The committee chairman and his members visited the council boss recently to present the trophy and jersey to him to show their readiness for the competition.
