Nigerian Air Force Trains New Airmen in Tactical Drone Warfare to Strengthen Fight Against Banditry

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced specialized training in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations for a new generation of airmen as part of efforts to enhance the country’s fight against banditry and other internal security threats.

The intensive programme covers tactical drone piloting, real-time intelligence gathering, night surveillance, reconnaissance, and target tracking. The training is designed to equip personnel with the skills needed to effectively deploy modern drone technology in security operations.

According to the NAF, the initiative will strengthen rapid-response capabilities, improve intelligence-driven operations, and reduce the risks faced by troops during ground missions in vulnerable areas.

Military authorities emphasized that combining advanced aerial technology with a new generation of highly trained personnel is essential to maintaining operational superiority and ensuring sustained surveillance in the protection of lives and property across the country.
