NGO empowers youths with trading skills, cash

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Codemwing, has commenced a 3-month free empowerment programme with training in trading skills such as forex trading, electronic commerce, Application development, programming, photography, make-up, Acting, swimming, making pastries and others.

Speaking at the flag off of the training programme at Sogunle, Town Hall, Oshodi on Wednesday, the programme Coordinator, Semiu Ganiu said the empowerment was organised to support of the government’s effort towards youth empowerment at the grassroots.

According to him, the training classes would be in two segments with the first six weeks allotted for theory while the last six weeks would be for practical, which according to him, is the most part of the training which the trainees must not miss even for a day.

He added that in three weeks’ time after the registration exercise, the trainees would undergo business class enlightenment about the courses they took on how to use social media to make money.

Meanwhile, the leader of the organization, Mr. Victor Emalaboti, disclosed that the serious trainees would be give sum of N300,000 each as grant to start up their own business afterwards..
