Moses Simon Set For Historic 100th Super Eagles Appearance Against Madagascar

Nigeria forward, Moses Simon is set to cement his status as a legend of the national team as he will make his 100th international career in the 2027 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifier appearance against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Friday.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has made plans to celebrate the milestone of Moses who made his international debut in March 2015.
The 31 year old versatile winger began his international career when he came on as a 59th minute second half substitute replacing Anthony Ujah in a friendly against Uganda on March 25, 2015.
The Paris FC forward have had a thrilling career, survived injuries, coaches philosophy while his 99 appearances comprised of 64 competitive matches and 35 friendly games.
Simon has been to five AFCON making 23 appearances while also featuring in 22 World Cup qualifying matches.
The Nigeria international career has been a mix of longevity, versatility with pace, ability to create chances and opportunities. He has however scored over 11 goals in 99 games despite deployed from the left flank.
One of the most memorable moment for Simon in the Super Eagles shirt was inspiring a 2-0 win against Swaziland during the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign where be scored a free kick in Port Harcourt.
Joseph Yobo was the first Nigerian to reach 100 caps. His landmark appearance came against France in the 2014 World Cup round of 16. He finished with 101 appearances. Vincent Enyeama became the second Nigerian to reach the century. He earned his 100th appearance against Uganda in March 2015 and ended his career with 101 caps.
Ahmed Musa became the third and currently holds Nigeria’s appearance record, with 111 caps. Alex Iwobi joined the club on 10 June 2026, making his 100th appearance against Portugal in Leiria. He became the fourth Nigerian to reach the milestone.
