Eid-Maolud: Lagos lawmaker preaches peaceful coexistence

By Abolaji Adebayo

The Lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Olusola Sokunle, has tasked Nigerians to do away with violence during the 2019 general elections.
He particularly charged the Muslims on tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and charity, as they celebrate Eid Maolud.
In a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Okunade Adekunle, the lawmaker explained that the celebration should not be limited to the fun of it but also serves as a season of extending love to other faith.
Sokunle added, “I urge Muslims to align themselves with the prophet Muhammed’s teachings which centre on charity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
“As a nation, we must continue to see ourselves as one and focus on how we would make Nigeria great. There is high hope and certainty that Nigeria will survive its challenges and move to the next level.”
He, however, advised Nigerians to conduct themselves well as the country goes into elections to further deepen her democracy.
