Eid-Maolud: Bello calls for unity in Nigeria

The Executive Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Monsuru Bello, has urged Muslims in Ejigbo to ensure peace and unity in the community and also inculcate the teachings of clerics in their daily activities.

The Chairman, who spoke with newsmen at his residence on Tuesday on the occasion of Eid-Maolud celebration, stated that every Muslim should be focused and pay attention to the teachings of the Holy Book of Quran and emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Bello also disclosed that every Muslim should align themselves with the Prophet’s teachings which cut across piety, charity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence, amongst others.

When quizzed to speak more on his opinion on the importance of the celebration, Bello, who is a Muslim himself, noted that the stated obligations are not to be done just only during the period of celebration but throughout the life of human being.

He further called on people of other religions to uphold their respective religious beliefs in order to forestall the national challenges facing the country. He however charged the federal government to create environment for free and fair elections in 2019.
