The prosecution was led by SP Philip Adegbemuji, while the case was investigated by operatives of the Command Special Squad 2, with INSPR Ahibola George serving as the Investigating Police Officer.

According to the charge sheet, the defendant allegedly conspired with other persons still at large to commit the offence at No. 18, Olaigbe Street, Computer Village, Ikeja, at about 9:30 a.m. in 2026.

The first count accused him of conspiracy to commit stealing, an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The second count alleged that Gbolahan and others at large dishonestly stole Oraimo-branded accessories, including power banks, neck earphones and smartwatches, valued at ₦14 million.

The items were said to belong to Spectrum Innovation, a major dealer in Oraimo accessories at Computer Village. The alleged offence is punishable under Section 280(a), (b) and (c) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The charge sheet bore the approval of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Directorate of Public Prosecutions, and was stamped by the District Prosecutor’s Office, Ogba, on October 9, 2026.

When the charges were read to him, Gbolahan pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor did not oppose his bail application but urged the court to impose stringent conditions to ensure his attendance throughout the trial.

In her ruling, Magistrate Kusanu granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦1 million with 2 sureties in like sum.

The court directed that the sureties must provide evidence of their means of livelihood, tax returns and proof of residence within the court’s jurisdiction. Their details are also to be verified by the court.

The defendant was further ordered to deposit his means of identification.

The magistrate ordered that Gbolahan be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

The case was adjourned for mention and trial.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command said operatives of the Command Special Squad 2 were pursuing other suspects allegedly connected to the theft.

The Command also advised traders in Computer Village, particularly those operating around Olaigbe, Oshitelu and Otigba streets, to install CCTV cameras and employ trusted staff to reduce cases of burglary and theft.

It said patrols and intelligence-gathering operations had been intensified in the area following complaints from dealers over the theft of high-value accessories, including Oraimo, iPhone and Samsung products.

Gbolahan is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
