LGSC Chairman Commends Ejigbo Council Chairman On Staff Welfare

The Chairman of Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Lagos State, Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu, has commended the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Alhaji Monsuru Oloyede (Obe) for a job well done regarding staff welfarism and work environment.

He made the commendation during a statutory visit by the Commission to the council chairman and the entire workforce of the Local Council Development Area recently.

The 18-man team was received at the Permanent Secretariat of the Local Council.

Speaking at the event, the Commission Chairman commended the Council Chairman, Alhaji Monsuru Oloyede (Obe) for a job well done, as regards staff welfarism and work environment.

He further applauded the Obe for the ongoing reconstruction of the Permanent Secretariat, while confirming that the edifice will be fully reconstructed and ready for use by the end of the year.

The council boss  reiterated his commitment to giving optimum concern to staff welfarism, while also sustaining and improving on the celebration and package given to retiring staff annually.

While stating that he has never taken a loan from any financial institution since he came into power six years ago, Obe assured the staff that there will be palliative measure to cushion the harsh effect of the present economy.

Also speaking, the Commissioner representing Lagos Division, Hon. Hakeem Adisa Bamgbola, praised the newly posted Council Manager, Mr. Olusegun Ajaguna, for being hardworking and dedicated.

“This is based on Mr. Ajaguna’s service at previous Local Governments where he served,” he noted.

On behalf of the Permanent Secretary (P.S), Local Government Establishment and Training Office, Mrs. Bibilomo Olushekun, the Director Establishment, Mrs. Olawunmi Dada, spoke about training, promotion, posting, deployment, last day in office and Record of Service.

She encouraged the Council Manager to send in staff for training as and when due, and respond appropriately to circulars. She also advised staff not to see Posting as a punishment, but as an opportunity to learn more, experience more, meet new people and widen their horizons.

The Director, Recruitment, Discipline and Exit, Mr. Sedeton Ogabi, mentioned that promotion letters for senior officers will soon be released, and soon-to-retire officers should have their list sent as well as write to the Commission, and follow due processes early enough.

Ogabi spoke on behalf of the P.S LGSC, Mr. Obadina Akinbode.

While appreciating the dignitaries on behalf of the Council Chairman and entire staff, the C.M, Mr. Olusegun Ajaguna, reiterated his commitment to ensuring that staff give their best and provide optimum value to the community.

The statutory visit by the dignitaries from the LGSC was an enlightening visit, as staff members were able to ask questions, clarify issues and get up-to-date information about the Civil Service.

Other members of the visiting team are the Commissioner representing Epe Division – Hon. Ahmed Ayinde Seriki, the Commissioner representing Ikeja Division – Hon. Taofeek Abiodun Adaranijo, the Commissioner representing Ikorodu Division – Hon. Olubowale Sosimi, the Director Admin & LGSC – Mrs. Omobola Ajayi, the Dir. Secretariat LGSC – Mrs. Olatunde Rasheedat Mojisola, and the Dir. Procurement LGSC – Mr. Taofeek Ambali.

Others are the Assistant Dir. Secretariat, an officer from Estab. Department, two Public Affairs Officers, three LGSC Secretariat Staff and a Photographer.
