LAWMA Boss Assures Cleaner Lagos As State Provides More Refuse Trucks ​

To ensure a cleaner Lagos, the state Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has added more refuse trucks to its fleets across the metropolis, the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni  has said.

He said also said that the PSP operators had been directed to work efficiently in their designated areas irrespective of assigned days, with the agency providing backup services to bridge any gap.

While expressing readiness to manage waste in the state, Odumboni said the agency had since stepped up its operations by adding more fleets across all districts in the state.

“We want to assure residents that LAWMA has made adequate arrangements by adding more trucks across all the districts to ensure that Lagos is environmentally friendly. PSP operators have also been mandated to ensure prompt evacuation of waste generated by tenements , Odumboni said.

He implored the populace to avoid acts that could pollute the environment, just as he advised motorists to drive with caution, considering the sanitation workers (street sweepers) and other service providers discharging their duties during the period.

He called on all residents to bag their waste, patronise assigned PSP operators, and promptly pay their waste management bills.

He also enjoined the general public to call LAWMA toll-free numbers 07080601020 and 617 for all waste management-related issues in their areas.
