The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has sealed establishments in Ikeja and Maryland areas in the state over noise pollution.
LASEPA, while restraining activities at other firms in Maryland and Gbagada on Monday disclosed that the state will continue to tackle noise pollution in the metropolis.
The agency stated that the enforcement operation, after several warnings to the establishment, was part of the state’s effort to ensure compliance with environmental laws and also protect public health.
Some of the sealed establishments include Vital Products Limited, A & P Nigeria Limited, Polite Anchorage and Suites, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Terrag Inn Apartment, Evening Class Guest House, Celestial Church of God, Charley’s Bar, and 7th Heaven Hotel & Suites.
LASEPA General Manager, Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on non-compliance with environmental laws.
He added that all businesses must recognize their environmental responsibilities and collaborate with the State government to ensure a cleaner, more sustainable Lagos.
