In the budget, capital expenditure covers 62 per cent while the recurrent expenditure takes 38 per cent.
Essien appealed to the legislature for quick approval of the budget to enable continuous development in Lagos Mainland.
She stated that the budget was tagged “Budget of Continuity” to improve on the transformational progress of actualizing  the Smart City plan of Lagos State in Lagos Mainland.
According to her, her administration has recorded achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructures, staff welfare, skills acquisition, empowerment and other sectors.
She appreciated the executive members and  management staff for their support towards the milestones achieved.
She, however, warned residents to desist from indiscriminate waste disposal and environmental abuse that render development process futile.
Responding, the council leader, Hon. Azeez Oloto, assured hasty budget approval to give room for good governance and delivery of democracy dividends to the people.
