In one of the biggest shocks of the 2026 Lagos FA Cup, debutants Ghetto Tigers Ladies sensationally knocked out defending champions Dannaz Ladies in a thrilling quarter-final encounter.
The Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA side produced a performance full of courage to secure a memorable 2-1 victory, sending shockwaves through Nigerian football.
Chidera Isaiah was the heroine of the day, scoring a brilliant brace to lead her team to victory.
The game exploded into life in the 34th minute when Isaiah pounced on a loose ball during Ghetto Tigers’ high press and unleashed a thunderous strike to give the underdogs a stunning lead.
Dannaz Ladies, however, responded swiftly. Just seven minutes later, Uluma Okorie produced a moment of magic with a superb equaliser, restoring parity and sending the two sides into the break locked at 1-1.
The decisive moment came 15 minutes into the second half. Isaiah’s dazzling pace proved too much for the Dannaz defence as she raced onto a perfectly weighted assist from Grace Akingboye before calmly slotting home to complete her brace and restore Ghetto Tigers’ lead.
Despite late pressure from the champions, Ghetto Tigers held firm to seal one of the most famous results in the competition’s recent history.
With this upset, Ghetto Tigers Ladies have now booked their place in the semi-finals, where they will face DreamStar Ladies in what promises to be another exciting clash.
