Lagos Building Collapse: One Dead, Three Rescued Alive

One person has been confirmed dead while three others have been rescued alive following the collapse of a two-storey building under construction at Akinola Street, near Fadeyi Bus Stop, off Ikorodu Road, Lagos State, on Friday morning.

The incident reportedly involved construction workers who were at the site when the building collapsed.
Emergency responders rescued three victims alive and provided them with immediate pre-hospital medical care before transporting them to a hospital for further treatment.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing to determine whether more people remain trapped beneath the rubble.

Responders at the scene include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Response Team, LRU Paramedics, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) and officers of the Nigeria Police Force from Alagbon Division.

The cause of the collapse has yet to be established. Relevant regulatory agencies are expected to investigate the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the collapse and establish whether any building or construction regulations were violated.

Meanwhile, rescue teams continue to search the debris for possible survivors as emergency operations remain underway.
