Kosofe APC Primaries: Aspirant Accuses Council Chairperson of Hijacking Process
A House of Representatives aspirant for the Kosofe Federal Constituency, Yemisi Odunsi, has accused the Chairperson of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Bola Bada, of allegedly hijacking the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries to favour a preferred candidate.
Odunsi alleged that the primary election process was manipulated in favour of former Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Dele Oshinowo, whom she claimed enjoyed the backing of key party figures during the exercise.
The aspirant expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the primaries, insisting that the process did not reflect the wishes of party members at the grassroots.
According to her, the alleged interference by party leaders and local government officials undermined internal democracy and denied other aspirants a level playing field.
Odunsi called on the leadership of the APC and the party’s Appeal Committee to thoroughly investigate the allegations and ensure justice for aggrieved contestants.
She maintained that transparent and credible primaries remain essential to preserving confidence in the party ahead of future elections.
The development adds to the growing wave of complaints and petitions trailing the APC House of Representatives primaries held across parts of Lagos State, with several aspirants alleging irregularities and manipulation in the exercise.
