Johnson Joins Oba Orelope, Others for Eid Prayers in Egbeda
Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, representing Alimosho Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, joined Muslim faithful on Friday for the Eid-ul-Adha prayer held at Ebenezer Primary School, Egbeda, Lagos.
The prayer session also had in attendance Oba Ahmed Omogoriola Orelope Laka I and Hon. Luqman Orelope, who represents Alimosho Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Speaking during the celebration, Johnson described Eid-ul-Adha as a season of gratitude to Allah, sacrifice, patience and renewed commitment to humanity.
He noted that the festival serves as a reminder for leaders and citizens alike to embrace compassion, selflessness and accountability in their dealings with one another.
According to him, leadership goes beyond governance and must also reflect spiritual values and responsibility towards the people.
“As a government, we will continue to prioritise the welfare of our people and fulfil the promises we made during the campaign. Leadership and fellowship indeed have spiritual connections, as leaders are expected not only to uphold the laws of the land but also to follow Allah’s divine guidance on how leaders should relate with the people,” Johnson stated.
The lawmaker also urged residents to continue praying for peace, unity and progress in Lagos State and Nigeria at large while embracing the lessons of Eid-ul-Adha.
