Jobs for 4,000 youths in Lagos ID card scheme-Kasumu

No fewer than 4,000 youths will be empowered in the effort to scale up the number of Lagosians with the re-launched card from the current 6.5million to 10million by December 31, this year.
General Manager of Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, LASRRA, Engr. Ibilola Kasumu disclosed this at the re-launch of the card on Wednesday announcing that the agency plans to work with the executive chairmen of local governments and local council development areas to recruit the youths.
Kasumu, who thanked Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu and the State Executive Council for their patience and understanding while the grueling task of putting the new card scheme in place was in progress, said the new card can be used for 28 services including access to credit, bus rides, health insurance and identification purposes.
Read her words: “The new Lagos resident card is therefore a multi-application smartcard that offers registered residents access to services ranging from serving as a means of personal security and identity verification of your residency status and financial inclusiveness by providing every resident with the ability to perform cashless transactions.”.
She also commended Sterling Bank for identifying with the vision of a SMART Lagos by funding the first set of 3 million cards.
