Increased housing projects boost interior decoration business in Ejigbo

Increase in housing and hotel projects in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has resulted in the boost of interior decoration business in the community as traders record higher sales.
A ceramic tiles merchant in Ejigbo, Mr. Kazeem Adewale Lawal revealed this to ECHONEWS, saying the rate of sales has grossly increased in the past one year.
He established that the business has witnessed progress due to the influx of people who come to the community to invest in housing and hotel businesses.
According to him, interior decoration especially tiles is one the materials needed by every modern home and hotels as it remains the material to beautify the building erected for hotel business.
“Floor tiles are very popular in our local homes, offices and hotels. Many people want to have floor tiles in their house as a result of this, customers, contractors building hotels and malls around Jakande, NNPC have been purchasing from us. The most popular kinds of floor tiles are very durable and warm and they come in different designs and patterns.”
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goodwill Nigeria Floor Tiles Company explained that based on brand, quality and size, the tiles are of various prices.
“We have the ceramics polished and unpolished and glazed type and their prices re usually based on cartons or per square metre. Then brand name matters as we have various star brands such as Goodwill brand, Bazil, but Italy is the most expensive.”
He added that prices also depend on the area of purchasing, noting that it is mostly cheaper at Orile Coker and Ogun State where it is produced since the former governor of Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola bounded importation of tiles.
