Nigeria forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed that his move from Scottish giants Celtic to Turkish club Bursaspor was facilitated by his agent, who convinced him that the transfer presented an attractive opportunity.
Iheanacho, who said he prefers to concentrate on his football rather than get involved in transfer negotiations, explained that his agent handled discussions with the clubs’ directors before presenting the details of the move to him.
The Super Eagles striker admitted that he was aware of the negotiations but left the process in the hands of his representatives.
“To be fair, I don’t talk about transfers. I really try to concentrate on my football. The transfer talks were done with the agents and directors,” Iheanacho was quoted by Buraspor.
The former Manchester City and Leicester City forward disclosed that his agent informed him of Bursaspor’s interest and explained the details of the proposed move before he agreed to join the Turkish side.
“Of course, I am aware of the transfer talks. I don’t really know how they were contacted, but I was told by my agent that Bursaspor were in contact. He explained everything to me in detail. I was happy, and I said yes.”
Iheanacho explained that his agent convinced him that the move was a promising prospect, describing the opportunity as an interesting one.
“It’s a good and interesting place, according to how he told me about it. We went through everything together, and we saw it was a very concrete situation.”
