In an effort to nurture and engage the future leaders of Lagos West, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, hosted a significant gathering of young people affiliated with the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter.

 

The Chairman leveraged this opportunity to interact with the youths, learning about their aspirations and concerns, and exploring potential avenues for collaboration in harnessing their talents and skills, with the ultimate goal of fostering positive change and growth within the community.

 

 

In an address delivered on behalf of Chairman Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, the Vice Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Mrs. Mojisola Badmus, eloquently emphasized the critical importance of fostering harmonious relationships between leaders, elders, and the youth.

 

Mrs. Badmus highlighted the indispensable value of mutual understanding, love, peace, and tolerance in ensuring that Lagos West and its communities continue to thrive and progress.

 

Speaking to the eager group of young Nigerians, Mrs. Mojisola Badmus implored them to embrace open and constructive dialogue with their elders, recognizing the immense value of cross-generational exchange in navigating complex issues and avoiding conflicts.

 

The Vice Chairman also counseled the youths to resist any harmful activities that might impede their personal growth or threaten the prosperity of their community and nation. Her message emphasized the power of civic responsibility and self-improvement, encouraging the young people to embrace their potential as agents of positive change.

 

Mrs. Mojisola, revealed that the Igando-Ikotun government recently gave out 100 GCE to youth, Football Competition among youth, ICT Training, Skills acquisition, just to mention few aimed at assisting the youths to effectively carry out their activities.

 

She appealed to the youths to take advantage of the opportunities given by the state and local government in the area of youth development and shun all vices as well as desist from being used by political miscreants as tools for destabilization.
