‘I Want People To Recognise My Sound’ — kllzbamo

Nigerian upcoming artiste, Daniel Olajolo, popularly known as kllzbamo  has opened up on his journey into music, the challenges of emerging in the industry and his ambition to establish a distinctive sound.

kllzbamo said his decision to pursue music was driven by his deep love and passion for the craft, noting that music provides a unique way to express emotions, tell stories and connect with people.

According to him, listening to different artistes and experiencing various situations in life made him realise that he also had stories, feelings and messages he wanted to share through music.

He said his ambition goes beyond fame, explaining that he wants to use his voice and creativity to inspire and entertain people while making a positive and meaningful impact through his music.

Speaking about the challenges of being an upcoming artiste, kllzbamo acknowledged that the journey comes with financial difficulties, limited opportunities, criticism and moments when an artiste’s talent may not receive the recognition it deserves.

He, however, said the challenges have motivated him to work harder, improve his craft and remain consistent.

“I’m taking the journey one step at a time, staying prayerful, focused and determined to keep pushing until my music reaches the people it’s meant for,” he said.

kllzbamo identified his passion for music and his belief that his journey has a purpose as major sources of motivation, even when he does not receive the level of recognition he desires.

He added that the support of people who listen to his music and encourage him also keeps him motivated.

“Even when the numbers are small, knowing that my music can touch someone or make someone feel something means a lot to me,” he said.

On the message behind his music, kllzbamo said his songs currently focus on hope, resilience and self-belief.

He explained that he wants his music to encourage people who are facing difficult situations or pursuing dreams that appear distant, stressing that a person’s present circumstances do not determine their future.

He added that his songs draw from real life experiences, emotions, struggles and love, with the aim of making listeners see themselves in his music and understand that they are not alone.

kllzbamo also expressed confidence in the uniqueness of his sound, although he acknowledged that he is still developing as an artiste.

He said he draws inspiration from different artistes but remains focused on bringing his own personality, energy, experiences and message into his music.

“I’m not trying to sound exactly like anybody else. I listen to different artistes and draw inspiration from different sounds, but I always try to bring my own style, energy and message into whatever I create,” he said.

Speaking about his biggest dream in the music industry, kllzbamo said he wants to take his music as far as possible and reach a point where listeners can immediately identify his sound.

He expressed hopes of performing on major stages, reaching audiences beyond his immediate environment, collaborating with artistes he admires and building a name through hard work.

The artiste also said he does not allow people who do not take upcoming musicians seriously to discourage him.

According to him, rather than trying to prove his doubters wrong, he prefers to allow his music and hard work to speak for him.

“I’m not trying to prove everybody wrong. I’m trying to prove to myself that I can achieve what I’ve dreamed of,”kllzbamo said.
