2026 BECE: Lagos Students Receives Results, Set Sight On Senior Secondary Education

Thousands of junior secondary school students across Lagos can now check and print their 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results online, Lagos State Examinations Board Registrar Adebayo Orunsolu has announced.
In a statement, Orunsolu confirmed that the results have been released through the Board’s official portal under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. Candidates who sat the examination are to follow the instructions on the designated website to access and print their scores.
The BECE, taken by students in Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS3), is the official transition examination from basic education to senior secondary school in both public and approved private schools across the state. Successful candidates will proceed to Senior Secondary School 1 (SSS1), where they begin specialised streams in the sciences, arts, commercial or technical fields.
Orunsolu noted that the 2026 examination, conducted between late June and early July, was peaceful, orderly and largely free of disruption. He attributed the smooth conduct to meticulous planning, adequate logistics and close monitoring put in place to protect the integrity of the process.
Congratulating the candidates, the Registrar expressed appreciation to school administrators, teachers, parents, guardians and other stakeholders for their cooperation during the conduct and processing of the examination. He urged all parties to rely solely on the authorised examination portal and official communication channels of the Board, warning against unofficial sources.
Orunsolu described the BECE as a critical checkpoint in Lagos State’s effort to strengthen foundational learning, maintain standards and prepare young people for the demands of senior secondary education and beyond.
With the results now available, the focus shifts to placement into senior secondary schools, subject choices and continued academic support. Parents and guardians have been advised to guide their children carefully through the transition to sustain the momentum built during junior secondary education.
The Lagos State Examinations Board, Orunsolu reaffirmed, remains committed to upholding the credibility, transparency and efficiency of public examinations in the state, stressing that a reliable assessment system is essential to building public confidence in education outcomes.
