Flamingos Gaffer, Akeem Busari Enlightens Coaches On Innovative Methods In Modern Player Development

Nigeria U17 Women’s national team gaffer, Akeem Busari has enlightened coaches on the innovative methods in modern youth player development at the Western Coast Summer Cup in Badagry.

The event which was organized by Alimosho Sports Club led by the co founder, Teslim Sanni was held at the Larus pitch, Western Coast Maritime Academy, Badagry which played host to indigenous coaches in the grassroots as Busari educated them on the rudiments of the game.

Busari highlighted the importance of having developmental plan when managing a s coaching players which will make them track the progress of their players and technical crew of the club.

He advised the coaches to apply data analytics of players development which will locate players weaknesses, help coaches to identify strengths and areas requiring improvement.

The CAF A instructor emphasized on coaches to deploy 3v3, 5v5, formats which will enhance more touches of the ball from the players and also make them to be more involved in training activities.

Busari draws from his wealth of experience and believes training shouldn’t be on only drilling players but rather other technical areas of the game where players decide, observe and execute technical instructions.

The experienced tactician further said academies should develop the person as well as the footballer. Education, nutrition, social skills, discipline, leadership and personal responsibility should form part of the programme.

He stated that, coaches should also invest in their career because modern player development depends heavily on the coach education.
