The Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations (FCAAN) collaborated with the Badagry Divisional Football Association (BDFA) to train and uplift grassroots coaches in Lagos State.

The one day intensive coaching training was handled by accomplished coaches and instructors, Akeem Busari and Fatai Akande as they enlightened over 60 coaches about the rudiments of the game.

Speaking on the impact of the coaching certification, FCAAN CEO, Danny Nazzal said the benefits of the certification is to offer formal education to the grassroots coaches which will in return provide the coaches the necessary skills to aid players development effectively.

“Coaching courses have uplifted the profession of coaching, providing formal education and certification to aspiring and experienced coaches.

“This has led to a more structured approach to coaching, with coaches acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to develop players and teams effectively.”

BDFA chairman, Dr Osondu Martins lauded the collaborative efforts with FCAAN as he urges the coaches to take advantage of the knowledge gained in the coaching course.

“This is a good development and I want to advise the coaches not to take what they were taught for granted as it would positively have a great impact to their career and respective teams they handle.”
