Fabukade CDA solicits govt’s support on road rehabilitation

By Edith Igbokwe

Fabukade Community Development Association (CDA), Oshodi has appealed to the local government to include the community in the scheme of development, especially in the rehabilitation of the roads across the local government area.

The CDA Chairman, Chief Tunde Tobun, said the community has been neglected for so long and needed to enjoy the dividend of democracy as other communities.

Tobun, who stated that the community had lived without potable water for seven years due to damaged borehole system, said the community has been able to fix the water system.

He said: “For good seven years, the community lived without availability of water which is necessary to life on daily basis due to damaged borehole system. Sourcing for water was difficult for the community at those periods as we spent more to get water from the neighbourhood.

“The condition was addressed last year August by putting the damaged borehole into good shape through the contributions by the residents of the community. Now, the community enjoys free and unlimited access to water supply ever since we refurbished it up till date.”

The CDA Chairman added that the efforts of the community cut across clearing drainages, gutters and constant weeding of grasses taking over some streets on every Saturday.

He therefore appealed to the local government for rehabilitation of roads within the community, while appreciating the residents of the community for their cooperation towards community services.
