The Estate Youth Parliament (EYP), as part of its End-of-the-Year activities, donated food and clothing materials to the elderly and children at orphanages in the estate, Low Cost Estate, Jakande, Ejigbo.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, the chairman of the group, Yusuf Adeyemi disclosed that the foods and clothes were donated to show love and support to the elderly people and the orphaned children in the community.

He said it is part of the plans of the group to reach out to the needy in the community especially the elderly ones and the children, adding that they chose to donate foods and clothes being the essential things needed by the beneficiaries at this period.

The Supervisor for the Center of Elderly Persons in Jakande estate, Mr. Nicholas Obot, said he saw the gifts from EYP as a blessing from God, noting that there are so many organisations that do not have interest in caring for the elderly ones in the society.

He said he appreciated the group for constantly visiting the centre with foods and other items.

He prayed for abundant blessing for the group for making it a point of service to take care of the elders in the society.
