Nigerian comedian and content creator, Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly known as The Cute Abiola, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to address the country’s electricity challenges, lamenting that even his solar power supply has stopped working.
The comedian made the appeal in a video shared online, where he expressed frustration over the persistent power situation and the hardship Nigerians face, particularly amid rising temperatures.
In the video, Cute Abiola directly addressed the President, pleading for an improvement in electricity supply.
“President Tinubu, my solar is off. Please, for God’s sake, help us. My solar is off right now. Please, everywhere is hot. The suffering is too much. Please, there’s no light. Abeg,” he said.
He also criticised what he portrayed as the government’s focus on Tinubu’s re-election while Nigerians continue to grapple with electricity shortages and other economic challenges.
Taking a sarcastic swipe at the popular advice for Nigerians to invest in alternative power sources, the comedian questioned the reliability of solar energy, saying even that option was no longer providing relief.
“Buy solar, buy solar. Solar sef dey off,” he added.
His comments have drawn attention to the frustrations surrounding electricity supply and the growing reliance on alternative power sources by households and businesses across the country.
